The Battery thus affords an efficient "stand by* for running the Plant during periods when the traffic is not heavy and when in consequence it is not desirable to have the Prime Mover running continucualy).
SHITCHBOARD.
Cne Switchboard to be provided divided up into a number of ascarate enamelled alate panels mounted on an iron framework. Each ranel to be albotted to a particular circuit, and to carry the ne- cessary switchgear and measuring instruments for the control,and reasurement of the current and preseure in the circuit in question. TRANSFORMER AND LOW FREQUENCY INDUCTANCE.
The Transformer to be of the single phase iron core tyre, con- tained in a galvanized wrought iron case fitted with special high tension terminals and completely filled with high flash point in sulating oil. The machine to be designed to deal with an input of 30 kW. and to step up the voltage from the precaure of supply of the Alternating Current Generator to a suitable pree sure for charging the Condenser Bank to the required maximum voltage for the efficient absorbtion of the full energy rating of the Transmitting Plant.
In conjunction with the Transformer an air cooled air qore low frequency inductance of special design to be furnished for in- sertion in the Transformer Secondary Circuit to enable the Trang- former and Condenaer Circuit to be brought inti reucnapoa with the Alternator Frequency, a condition necessary for the production of a
